Questions ... please help!

I received seeds for this one and it was marked Hanafubuki. (Don't know who I got the seeds from.)

Is it really Hanafubuki? I sure doesn't look like the blooms in PlantFiles.

This is today's bloom. I don't know why the petals curl backwards like that?

Question #2.

Y'all are gonna laugh at this one...

I have a Bush Morning Glory (Ipomoea carnea) that I grew from seed. This is what I believe it to be: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/52996/

So ... my question ...

It got really tall. During some of the tropical storms that we got, it kind of plopped over. And it's been growing sideways. Yes, I remember asking about pruning this one to make it bushier and less top heavy and more bush like. Well ... I never did it. Bad gardener I am!!!

So ... now I have all these shoots growing from the main vine/stem. My question ... can I just bury this stem in the ground and let each shoot root on it's own to produce a nice row of bushes along my back fence?

Here is another view of the Bush Morning Glory stem that is horizontally growing along the ground with all the shoots (stems) growing upward.

Becky, your "Hanafubuki" looks similar, and it is beautiful!!! I like it better than what it "should" look like. It will be really interesting to see what it's seeds grow into!
Maybe it's warmer where it is growing now, and the temp. is having an effect on the habit? I just posted about how my cool nights are turning my blue "Monet No Fuji" a shade of pink instead of the blue it is supposed to be. It was blue in August.

Becky, You can try that if you want to. I don't know if it would work. Just remember though that it's not to late to take cuttings and place in water. These plants root in a week in a cup of water as Emma said. The only one that roots faster is
Blackie Sweet Potato and of course, it's an Ipomoea too, so no wonder.
I have rooted a 3 foot tall Carnea before, the one we call fistulosa in a tall
container of water. Take some 1 foot cuttings, root them and then if your idea doesn't work, you can plant your newly rooted cuttings for your Carnea border. :-)

Thanks Jax and Jackie! I will cut the Bush MG up and root each branch and replant. What a cool bush! I haven't seen any blooms on it yet, but I like the leaves and the hardy growth this baby exhibits! :-)

Well, I got my answer about "Hanafubuki" this morning. I guess sometimes the early blooms can throw something a little different. Here is today's bloom and it sure looks like "Hanafubuki" now! :-) I'm trying to pollinate it, but these blooms are all scrunched up and folded back. Grrrr ...
