Here is a bad pic of my new duck, Miss Quackers. She is a muscovy. Just got her tonight. I traded 8 mallards for her. They were beautiful too but they were from wild stock and they went to a home with big ponds for them to swim in. I only had a large feed pan to offer them. They were all from the same clutch I rescued from my back yard. 6 drakes and 2 hens.

So CUUUTE!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Myrhh, Soup gives me inspiration for an art piece! So swirly and wavy..

Basket O Chicken Babiez.. Oh how cute is that???????

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

ZZ, You're an artist? What's your medium?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

No... not an artist, but very creative.

My mom did a sculpture where it was a horses head turned to the side and the mane on the other side was a beautiful slate blue/black ocean wave...
The pic reminds me of that.. just so wavy and beautiful.. each feather so perfect... Things we overlook sometimes unless we have a pic like that!

I can see it.. but I can't produce it... Doesn't it look like it would be a pretty piece near a fountain.. or a pond? Hard to describe in text...

San Bruno, CA

I'm glad Soup could provide some inspiration! I like the idea of Chicken Art.....

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

DH is working an idea for a glass piece that involves a chicken. Should he pull it off, I'll definitely post it here for all to see. :)

SOOOOOOOOO cute and so special is she the one we saved?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yes harmony, shes the one we saved. of course if i had checked the humidity she wouldn't have needed saving. looking ashamed

(Zone 7b)

Don't blame yourself and this little one will have a special place in my heart.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Don't worry Commander Jordan - the excitement of hatching can be overwhelming to the point that we forget things, like remembering to eat and sleep once in a while. Plus it was a good learning experience, and Cindy is none the worse for wear, so everything worked out well. Yay!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

she is dy and can now stand. gonna give her some water

Great pic! I like the brahma in the background. They all look very healthy and happy!

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Very nice picture! I love how vibrant all their colors all and the water off in the distance.

Newton, AL

thanks for the comments. I love my birds. started raising them in my back yard about 10 years ago and have moved to the country and now have about 175 in my flock. Lots of different breeds. I am searching for my favorites. Not only in egg production, but temperment and personality. I really like the cochins and the salmon favoritlles. The samatras are fun too. But the dark brahmans and RI Reds and NH Reds are the sweetest.

OH MY GOODNESS! Look at the sun glowing through those ears! What great pictures!!! You must have a really nice camera or have a photographic eye... my compliments, again. :-)

Newton, AL

thanks, no great camera, just a small digital. It's hard to take a bad picture when your subjects are just so cute. He is all grown up now and equally as cute.

That's such a gorgeous photograph with your pup! It could be in a coffee table book! You certainly have the eye. I also really like the little white frizzle off to the right in the first pic. What a cutie!

Looooove your Frenchie!!! I'd love to get one (have wanted one for awhile), but don't have time for another dog until I'm out of school. He's got a great mug ; )

Newton, AL

thanks for all the kind words. I love my creatures. They are the only children God blessed me with, so I try to do my very best to care for thema and love them. Most folks don't understand, but I know you do. thanks again. It's nice to be with like minded folks.

Karbear - great to see your pictures and have you on the forum! We are getting lots of new chicken lovers lately! Welcome!! Hope you'll join in some of our other threads too! Your baby buff silkie is simply adorable, and March looks like a born mother. What a sweet picture. What kind is she?

InnBetween - animals are the only children here too, and we love each and every one of them and do what we can to make their lives happy and fulfilled. I'm with you on that!

Dunnellon, FL(Zone 9a)

Alright you guys...stop all this nonsense, RIGHT NOW! I am sick and need to get some rest. PLUS, you'd think I was looking at porn the way I'm trying to keep the screen shot away from my hubby's eyes!
I PROMISED - "I only want a couple of those cute little Seramas, honey!" You guys (esp. YOU, Harmony) are a bad influence. LoL
Some of you have seen my 4 Serama babies that were born last week. Here they are at 4 days old and pic is taken through the brooder wall.
The pic after this will be of the "older" Seramas I got when I got the 4 eggs.
Thanks for providing this thread- (muahh, ah, ah, ah!)
