BOX OF SUPRISE SASE BRUG CUTTINGS

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

I'm cutting back brugs early this yr. due to hurricane limb damage. Have 5 sases for the first 5 to post. all named, mix of single & doubles. This is a suprise box.

Anyone who requested cuttings from me this yr. please send me your reminder now. Would like to ship out by Tuesday.

Dollie

Hi Dollie!

I happened across this post because my only Brug is about 5 feet tall and is finally about to open its second bloom and there are about 20 more that should be open tomorrow! I can grow Brugs!!! LOL I would dearly love to have these, if you wouldn't mind a "Brug newbie" having them. I rooted the Brug I have from a cutting, so I know I can do that!

Thanks for your consideration!
Amy

Edited to clarify my thought - I came across this post because I came to the Brug forum to read a bit more about Brugs since I'm all excited about mine coming into bloom. My brain got ahead of my fingers. ^_^

Sorry to hear you had to cut them back so early due to the hurricane dammage.. I am finally having a few buds... I am amazed at even having those this year.. been fighting spider mites all season and my few brugs are stunted and anemic looking. Hopefully yours will have time to grow back and have another bloom this season. The brug I sent my Sister in Law was washed away in the hurricane along with most of their house.. they lived in Galveston.

Thanks Dollie!!! : )

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Tammie, I'm sorry to hear your SIL has lost most of her house. My MIL's house is in Jamaica Beach. We don't know if it is still standing, but her situation is a little different. It's a beach house and I hope it was insured. My MIL has gotten lax about keeping up with things, but she won't let anyone help her.

I haven't had a problem with spidermites, but my Brugs haven't done much this year even with plenty of fertilizer. I think it was because of the heat and lack of humidity.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Wow a day late and a dollar short ;o) Enjoy ladies. Thank you cannagirl for your generousity and I am sorry that Ike caused you so much damage. Not sure what I have lost yet. I lost the top out of one brug but all the rest of mine are very small and seem to stay that way or I lost them trying to root them. I think I am not trying to root as they don't seem to make it for long.

But I can still come here and enjoy the pictures.
Congrats to the winners.

sibhskylvr,

That is a gorgeous Burg.

Oh thank you so much, Dollie! I'm so excited! I thought the buds on mine would be open today, but only that one is. I took a picture anyway. LOL There are more buds than this, but this is the biggest concentration.

I'll dmail you my information. ^_^

Beautiful that baby is loaded!!!!

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Caren, Some how I knew you wouldn't need a box :)

Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about your sisters home. Ike put out some wide spread damage, and so many lost so much. I've been very lucky not to have spider mites. The two brug websites have wonderful information on how to control them.

Veronica, I had the same problem in past years with my brugs slow growth rate, wilted foliage. Brugs that were in the shade done really well, but I didn't have enough trees for all my brugs. This year I used a 20 X 60 shade cloth to grow my brugs under. Worked like a charm. I also plan to use gourd vines as a shade next spring for my brugs & other tropicals. I grew two gourd plants that covered a lg. area of my greenhouse within weeks! If I can find picture, I'll post. Also used the recipe as a feed for my brugs.

Sandy check with me after Tuesday, may have some extras to send your way.

Mike & Amy BEAUTIFUL pictures! Mike sending you a D-mail.

Dollie, that happened because my first attempt supposedly met with failure according to the message I received from PayPay. So I tried it again. Leave it to Paypal to screw things up. LOL.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Lol, Veronica. That's happened to me a time or two.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I hope you do have some cutting left, I didn't have luck with my first ones and do want to try again. Feel bad because I am losing pods off my first brug. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Veronica, issued your refund.

Samigal, Any cuttings left over, I'll ship in order of post made on this thread. Should have several boxes to spare.
Maybe someone reading this thread can help with your seed pod drop. I can't even get seed pods to produce out of all my blooms.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Samigal, How many Brugs do you have blooming at the same time? A Brug is not self pollinating. So you have to have more than one plant blooming at the same or you need to gather and save the pollen from one plant and hand pollinate. And it has to be a different variety. For example several Dr. Seuss plants blooming at the same time still won't produce seedpods. How large are the seed pods when they drop? I've had quite a number of "seedpods" drop off when they are about 1/2" long, but I believe they were the unpollinated ovary. The few that formed were chewed off by grasshoppers. Take a look at the end of the stalk. Does it look chewed?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

You told me to remind you after tuesday you may have extras but I got excited and couldn't help myself. Thanks cannagirl.

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

If you have any extra cuttings I would love some.
