CLOSED: Cats eating my Live oak babies, I.D. Please?

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Just this week we found about 25 of these cats eating our live oak (baby) tree. We have two planted one on each side of the yard and they are only on one tree. Both trees are about 5 feet tall and I dont want to lose them. Can someone help e on what these cats are?

They're Io Moth larvae. It's a real pretty moth, but they can sting you.

I don't know - I'd guess so, but there's lots of info on the web about them. Fly_girl would probably know, and I bet some folks on the Hummingbird and Butterfly forum have raised similar moths, if not this same one.
They are striking! They come to porch lights here once in a while.
