Your Cardinal will have a nice red outfit soon, Mrs-Ed, nice goldfinch.
Gp you've captured a lot of neat colors in your Grackle in the 3rd pic. Beautiful red-bellied WP pic.

Glad to see the Warblers again Nanny, haven't seen mine for some time.

I don't know if I'll see the Waxwings this year. there is hardly any crab apples in my trees. I'll have to try some cut up apples and put them in the mesh feeder, to lure them, hope it works. Would love to see the Bohemian again.

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Here's a photo of 5 Bald Eagles that was taken earlier this week. Being quite some distance away, they were virtually impossible to see with the naked eye. While viewing them, there were six on the ground and two in he air.

linthicum, what i wouldn,t give to see a bald eagle. when i noticed 5-6 b indigo buntings dead in the yard, i phoned the fish and wildlife people. a man came out and collected them to check for west nile. he said he was on his was to see if a pair of bald eagles were ok. i asked him where the were but he didn't tell me as he didn't want them disturbed. you are so lucky. lee

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

That is soooooo awesome linth!!!!!!!!!!

Lee, will they notify you if the buntings died from West Niles?

Spotted this juvie Bluebird the other day! Dad was there too but couldn't get a good shot of him...and he looked pretty bad due to molting right now!

Golden, MS(Zone 7a)

yes it was, as i like them so much, as i do the blue grosbeaks. might someone recommend an affordable pair of binoculare. i dropped mine and damaged them and too nearsighted to see well at a distance? lee

Marlton, NJ

Linth might be able to help with that. I'll take a look around and see what I can find.

Adorable Kookies Margaret. Love those Bald Eagles Linth.

Golden, MS(Zone 7a)

thanks margaretk, have always been interested in kookaburras. do they vocalize early in the morning? lee

PERTH, Australia

Yes lee, and at other times during the day. It's an amazing sound. I don't know if they have silent flight, such as owls have, but you never hear them flying. It's often the Singing Honeyeaters giving a warning call that alerts you to their presence. Either that or they land close by to grab some poor, hapless little lizard. They are pretty fearless and don't mind human presence, so they make a pretty good subject for photographs.
