Scarlett O'hara???? or not???

Ron encouraged me to post my results of my SO seeds that I purchased. The first flowers bloomed with a white throat and then they started blooming without a white throat so now I REALLY am confused. The pics of the flowers are not the greatest, we had a major cool spell that has kept the flowers from opening well. But here are the pics...first the one with the white throat..

now the one without...I would say they are half and half white throat and no white throat all on the same vine. I do have a separate vine that seems to be blooming with all pink..

now leaves and vine habit. Very coarse vine and very hairy and tends to ramble more than twine tightly.

One vine and two different blooms??? Is that really possible? If so, pretty cool! Beautiful vine!!! Love those red blooms! I've yet to get a true red MG bloom on any of my vines.

I know it is really weird. When they first bloomed I emailed Ron and told him I guess they are crimson rambler they have a white throat. But a few days later they started blooming solid! Now they seem to bloom half solid and half not. It is confusing!! LOL

Louise - Thanks for posting your blooms here...

I'd bet that there is more than 1 vine (if you were to actually trace them to where they are coming out of the ground) with a separate vine producing the blooms with the white throats and a separate distinct vine producing the solid throated blooms...the separate vines are currently heavily intertwined...the blooms with solid throats usually flower later in the season than the white throated blooms...

The blooms with the white throats are
Wine 'N' Roses

which is what you wind up with when Scarlett O'Hara looses the solid throat...these are commonly already available...

The Scarlett O'Hara varies in color, but the best ones are closer to red than pink...

Candy Pink (which is very closely related to SOH) produces a deep pink flower, but usually has light colored seeds...

Why don't you tag some of the solid throated blooms (?!)...so you could be sure of collecting seeds from solid throated seedpods (?)...

TTY,...

will do and I am pretty sure though not 100 percent that is one vine. I was the one who had to tie it up on the trellis since it wanted to sprawl and not climb. But there is always a possibility something came along behind it. These vines DID take forever to finally bloom!
