New Greenhouse

Danielsville, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Chris, that is a masterpeace. What did you use for the plastic, and what mil are talking about.I'm afraid I'm going to do some copying.Mike

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Copying is flattery Mike. All aspects were a copy of some sort, with certain improvements on old ideas.

I used a 6 mil, four year plastic, using wiggle wire (a MUST. Youtube it to find out more). Each window and all wood parts that touch the plastic have 1/8" double sided insulation tape to prevent rubbing, and or create a seal around windows and doors. The windows are 8' long and secured with 3 sash lock type window locks. The type that get tighter the further you go. We had a VERY windy day, and I put piece of smoldering paper all around the windows, and the smoke didn't falter once.

I originally wanted to use the polycarb panels, but it would have cost $3600. The plastic was around $220

Any other info you need, I'd be more than glad to share.

Ugh - I can relate. We wanted to take the roof off of our virtually un-used garage and replace it with polycarb - figured out it would be cheaper to get a whole hoop house

But it looks *great*.

Buried Treasures, WOW, that's a beauty! Very Nice! Lookin good!!

You can always install the poly carb one panel at a time, over time in the future (or even recycle old windows).

Certain looks like a fun space to wile away the hours!!

I pruned my obesum as you prescribed .... looking good and has new flower buds!

I'm anxious to see pictures with plants!

Those should be posted this evening, after I'm done packing. We have a cool front coming through.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

That is awesome! Love it!

(Sheryl) Gainesboro, TN(Zone 6b)

Boy, that cold front is really lasting a loooonnnggg time..... ahem!

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm still suffering the side affects of our 24 hour, 50 percent off sale. Still behind, with a few rightfully upset customers. I doubt I'll get new pics up before the 1st of the year, as we plan on running the sale one more time this year.

Poor kid - take your time, we'll be here!

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

I've nixed the plans of another full out 50% off sale. We're just not set up for that kind of volume in such a short period.

We take off Saturday for a week, and I'll look at more pics when we return. Very ready for a little vacation;

The greenhouse is more than doing it's job. the high today in there was 101 before I opened the side panels. The adenium are loving it.

With the 2 cold fronts that are passing through, I was forced to get everything in pronto.

Next views are down the left and right side, finishing with a picture from the back, facing the front.

The little tanks are working ok, but not part of a final solution. They did keep us in the 60's while the outside temps were in the low 30s.

I've been weeding this morning, as I couldn't get them all weeded before they came into the house last night.
