We're having something eating our Hibiscus, but haven't found a pest until today. Not ravishing the foliage, but just kind of picking and chosing.
We found this guy on one of them today. Somewhat ladybug like in shape and size, but with different markings.
If that's an 8 on its back I'm going to set up a shrine for Dale Earnhart.
CLOSED: ID PLease. Some sort of Nymph.
This is a nymph of a stink bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Pentatomidae); the ‘figure 8' on its back being openings of its scent glands. Most stink bugs are sap feeders, with some being serious garden pests, but some are beneficial predators on other small arthropods.
