Yep and if you want to be a vet or a vet tech make sure you check out the credentials of the school carefully cause some are only accredited in one state and people who graduate from them can't practice in other states. A friend of mine's daughter fell in this trap. After paying for all that schooling she found her degree was almost worthless. She had to start all over again the whole 4 years of vet school.

I have a sick chicken
My vet wears camoflage and army boots! He might wear a white coat for surgery.
but mostly he is out checking on the cows in the county.
Would you really gloria125 ? I'd take a course here or there but no one is dragging me back full time LOL.!

I had an avian vet who would come to the house wearing shorts and t-shirts! LOL He was great with the birds though.

The local university just offered courses in the violin. I really thought about it but it is 35 (70 mi round trip) mi and just then the price of gas went up.
I guess Ill have to be satisfied with what I know now!
I wonder what Palmbob wears. His bio picture for his articles is pretty scarey!
(Palmbob is a vet and DG writer)
You know there is a University (Phoenix I think) that now offers lots of courses and degrees via the computer. You never have to go there in person so people all over the country are getting their degrees that way. You do have to be the kind of person who is self motivating and able to set aside time for study no matter what.

well of course, but they will be home taught.
not if i can help it LOL... yep Missouri is filled with schoold too, they have a vet school at Uof M at Columbia...
Good news - sick chicken did not have gummed-shut eyes this morning, and they are not so sunken. She had antibiotic yesterday morning and evening. This morning she looked better already. First day of 3 with no gummy eyes. Plus, she didn't have as much goo around her nostrils. She ate a lot too, and had a nice normal "movement" (see, I didn't say the P word). I think she is on the mend.
She is one of two large black chickens with beards. I think she might be an EE or Ameraucana. Anyway, I named those two girls Puddin' and Dumplin' but I don't know which is which. I guess this one can be Puddin'. I should put one of the new spiral leg bands I got on her and keep records.
claire, glad your little one is doing good.

Claire that is great news! may i ask the kind of antibiotic used, and the dosage?

It's streptinomycin, but he didn't tell me the dosage. :-(
He mixed it up and it's in a dark glass bottle with a rubber stopper and an Rx sticker on it, but no other info.
That is great news Claire!
