I saw some awesome chickens at the fair this weekend and am glad the CF Dust missed me or I would have been bidding right along with the others... There were some high dollar hens out there but boy they were sure pretty... Some I had never seen before... BUT I resisted and did not bid..... maybe next year.... ;~}

MissJestr, try not to resist so strongly. You are only missing out on the greater delights of chickenhood. Of course, some people on this forum call me excitable and unstable. They are just being party poopers.

Taynors, excellent singing. Well done....

Thank you :) lol
American Idol aint got nothing on me HA.

Sorry Tay--I was too busy singing along to say good job. AGAIN.

LOL :)

Some of those chickens went for over 200 bucks a bird... They were pretty and I am sure required alot of attention to keep them looking that way. Thats why I like my rocks, they sure are pretty and dont require trips to the chicken beauty salon every day..My quiet time is feeding my chickens and talking to them and having them talk back to me, they make me smile...You all can send pictures of yours and I will live thru them for right now. BTW have a lead on a few more banner rocks to add to my family... Have not done so yet...

wow 200 bucks a bird. NOT in my budget. I talk to mine also, oh Harry almost came up to me today. Working on it.

Dear Chicken Fairy,

Thank you for taking my chickens to such a beautiful new home. Now they will be safe. Please be sure to deliver the promised ones to Missouri. And next time, could you leave a note, PLEASE!

Enjoy the wine and chocolate. You certainly earned it. I could not fathom driving 287 miles with 158 or 159 birds. Hope you got some cheese from Tia.

Honestly Sincere,
tamarafaye

whew! does this mean I can come out from under the couch now? I was hiding from the chicken fairy! hoping she wasnt headed my way with all those babies! LOL!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Yes you may come out from under the couch, all is safe for the time being. BUT I got word that she will be out flying again maybe as early as Thursday. I am going to make a thread today for just what you want us to bring to chicken stock in 2 weeks. Lets try to keep the chatter down in there so we dont lose what to bring.

Gao, Mali

Yes, get ready. The CF cometh...

Frans, I have been away, and what have you been up to? ONE HUNDRED and ONE new baby chicks? WOW aren't you brave.

Maybe it'll be a new movie. 101 baby chicks.

Saw you have an adorable little goat too.

Me, I used an area of my yard for gardening. Novice gardner that I am, I planted a lot of different things, only one thing actually thrived. I thought they were squash plants. As it turned out, I peeked in that mass of huge leaves and vines the other night, and what did I see? A strange LARGE round orange thing. Strangest squash I had ever seen. Upon closer inspection, I discovered it was a PUMPKIN. Guess they grew out of the compost from a pumpkin I put in last fall. :) Am I a gardener or what?

Life is full of surprises.

Karen~
You just described why I love to garden so much... You never know what will pop up next. Weeds are predictable, but a !!pumpkin!! Nothing can stop a good seed determined to grow.

:-D
