I like 'em too. I do agree with Sherrie on the Grandpa Ott's though. Those buggers never give up!!

All mgs are annuals???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Star of Yelta is haunting me for years. It's all over my garden, though I only planted it on one area. If they don't re-seed much, like Heavenly Blue, then they're fine.

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

I think they are annuals but they reseed so the plants continue to grow in the same place the mother plants were . In warmer limates they must just keep growing and reproducing a ? and I think they can be a big problem . don't they also call them "bind weed"?

No, I think bindweed is something else.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

they are beautiful .... do any of them behave?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

I do love them so much and they do re seed themselves. I also pull anything I do no tlike, even them when they are out of place. I really work hard on my yard, what can I say

I think that bindweed might be a relative. the flowers look like small MG.

I think I'm going to get some seed and put them all the way in the back off my property to cover the chain link fence. Do you direct sow them?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

FlowerJen do it next Spring not now ok, they are annuals! They do drop the seed and come back!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh yeah, I know for the spring. Wanted to know if you have to start them inside first or can you just put them in the ground after first frost?

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Just trow them in the ground when it is warm enough and they HATE fertilizer.

Thanks

I had heavenly blue last year and it did not re-seed... but this one was planted in 2006 in the back of the house... neddless to say it has survived... now is in the front! it's interesting because is a very small vine, did not start blooming until last week... actually is among some roses and the seeds probably woke up when I cleaned up around it... and grew so fast... I did not believe it could really bloom since it is a small vine... not even 5 feet tall...

I've had tiny ones blooming at one foot tall! Heavenly blue is one of my favorites, that's because I just happen to love all blue flowers!
