Yesterday, Friday was a beautiful day, but I had things a had to get done inside, I did sneak outside to get some pictures of some late bloomers.

Mum "Ruby Breithaupt" That I bought from Bluestone at their spring sale.

I can't remember the name of this plant, but I found some sleepy bumble bees going for the last of the flowers of the season.

Holly, that is a cute picture! I finished my succlent thing this PM. I am not a great decorater, but the idea is to make use of a narrow defined, south facing spot to show off memntos from hikes, cool rocks etc, with some hardy sedums and other succulents I've amassed.

We mulched up a lot of leaves and piled up compost- already heating up a few hours later. Love the moist leaves after rain.

I would say- I really know my weeds, having so much experience with them! Maybe a little more hands- on, and I wouldn't keep growing so many weeds.

and done. Chantell's pigs ear, and a couple other things, not sure what will be hardy here. One little survivor of arachnoideum.

Holly, I really like your birdbath pool. That is one BIG Iris. I'm seriously jealous of your hot tub. My body needs one.

Lady, your shrubs look cozy in their winter coats. It was close to 70 here today. So strange to hear of you so bundled up. That lavender flower is really pretty.

Sally, I like your artifact garden!! Every time you mention some weed I have to go into PF and look it up. Right now I have a bunch of thistle in one part of my bed. I keep digging it up and using Round Up on it, but it keeps coming back. I also think that I have Creeping Charlie all over my yard growing in the vole ruts. It is a royal pain to try to get rid of.

I actually had a non-gardening day. My nieces came down from NYC for the weekend. They are worried about me as I haven't been up there all summer as I'm still having feet problems and can't walk much. They spent the AM fixing all of my computer and electronics snafus. Kids must be born knowing how to use all of this stuff. I fixed them a fantabulous brunch and then we went out to do some reverse shopping, ie returning things. After only 1 return at HD my sister called and said her family wanted to come by for a visit. Well, we had a pre Thanksgiving feast!!!! Nothing like whipping up a 4 course dinner with 6 side dishes, 2 main courses, 2 kinds of bread and 5 desserts in 1 and a half hours. My mother would have been impressed!!! My 7 yr old nephew kept text messaging me from the living room and I sent my first ever text message today!!!!

My niece wanted a photo of her dinner to put on her MYSpace page. What a generation!!!!

Everyone's in bed and I just finished washing up and putting everything away. And I was going to stay off of my feet today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lady, It was beautiful here yesterday and we were outside all day but I know the cold is coming. We are on the sunny side of Pa., just go a little bit north and hour or two and the weather is so much colder. Sounds like you had a good day outside even in the cold.
Sally I like your collectible garden. We collect rocks from all over when but so often forget which rock came from where. LOL
How nice to have a spot for your memories. I like your pigs ears, I should put them on a spring swap want list.
Stormyla, Nothing more wonderful than a day with love ones. Sounds like you really have a house full. That meal looks delicious.
LOL over your niece, this younger generation with their blogs.
Going up to Mom's to rake leaves and then they will be down to my house for lunch after they finish up at Church. Ric made soup yesterday cheese, broccoli and bacon. Yummy

Stormy, You better be in bed snoozing while I post this. Sounds like you had a full day yesterday.
The temp dropped down and we had some rain last night, I think it will be an indoor day.

Pa is a wide state, and so many different weather patterns, and the little corner I'm in sure gets its changes fast. I can dirive from sunny into a rain storm just by driving to Walmart. Same with sunny into a blizzard.I just throw in boots, hat and gloves when I go to work just incase. You never know what the day will end up like.

Hoho Lady, no such luck! I just came inside for a break from raking out the beds. My helper is coming tomorrow to help plant bulbs and my Maples have done their deed and I can't find the ground or plants.

I have a friend in Bradford. Is their weather the same as yours? I've bought her CuddleDuds for Christmas several times and she loves them!!!!

OMG! Bradford, Home of the Marching Owls! I think their fall/ early winter was worse then ours. We would go to the band competition in the late fall when DD was in high school. The fog would roll onto the field and you could not see a thing! And it was really cold sitting in the bleachers. Use to dread going to that one. Didn't know if it would be snowing before it was over and coming home at night with the deer crossing the roads. Don't miss that at all now.
However once winter sets in we get that Erie Lake Effect Snow, Bradford is a bit far away for that, but they have their own weather pattern based on their geographic location.

It's in the low 50's and overcast today every so often the sun peeks through. My Mom called and said Brownies came and raked their leaves while they were at church. They should be coming soon for soup and sandwiches. I have been so blessed with my family sounds like you have too, Stormyla. Tomorrow I'm going up to my daughters house to labor. Not sure what I'll be doing either raking leaves or dragging totes out of the attic. Her due date is getting close and I haven't seen Lily for more than a week.
You would think my place would be neat and orderly for all the effort we put in to it but everywhere I look there is more to do. If I had another 2-3 weeks I might be ready for colder weather. Ric was just saying how busy we are and laughing that when we retired everyone asked us what would we do with all the time we would have. LOL
The fountain is back up and running much to the birds delight. Looking a little bare without the plants but still so pretty.
