I'm trying to get an ID on this moth -- from the coloring I think it's a Clearwing Hummingbird Moth. Is it?
Thanks!
CLOSED: A Clearwing Hummingbird Moth or a Snowberry Clearwing or ?
This is much more likely to be a hummingbird clearwing (Hemaris thysbe - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/54452582) than a snowberry clearwing (Hemaris diffinis - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/27606554).
Thanks suunto!!
Just found two other pages that helped figure it out -- the difference in the forewing cells seem to point toward hummingbird clearwing too.
