Hung out on my sliding screen door all day yesterday.
CLOSED: What The Heck Is this?
Crane flies (family: Tipulidae)... they're harmless; don't bite... they probably found each other in the evening, where they were attracted by the light. The larvae are found in moist woods, or water...very common.
Thank you!...we have never seen them before.
