Can anyone confirm if Arizona Cypress 'Carolina Sapphire' is the same tree as Cupressus glabra? In the plant files there is quite a difference in the height and spacing of the two types, not to mention the nomenclature confusion. I got a tree on the clearance rack, thinking it was Carolina Sapphire and would grow to 10-12'....now I'm not so sure.

Cupressus arizonica, aka Cupressus glabra http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/54341/
For all I know, it may even be a Cupressus glabra 'Blue Ice' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/79394/
HELP please!
Cupressus ID question
Yep, same thing. The vast majority of Arizona Cypresses in cultivation are Cupressus glabra, syn. C. arizonica var. glabra.
Recent genetic tests have shown that the two (C. glabra, C. arizonica) are quite distinct, even though they look fairly similar.
