CLOSED: Exotic Bug on Hibiscus Seed Cap

Sterling, VA(Zone 7a)

I thought this critter might be a beetle, but I am not sure. It's very colorful. I've checked out Dave's Bug Files, but haven't noticed anything exactly like this. They are just on my Hardy Hibiscus seed caps. Any ideas as to an ID? Many Thanks, Snug

I'm so glad you ID'd them. I have searched high and low, and finally just gave up. I've never seen these critters before. But I'll never forget them!
