OK...I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. LOL
It's pretty...perform well for you?
September pix
Thats one does. I have another in a slightly different exposure, does not get the early morning sun ( the one in the pic gets sun until about noon) And is not so good.
I agree, I have mine in the same exposure. Sun all morning until about 1:00 pm, and it loves it! I think most roses thrive with that much sun, but not the hot afternoon exposure.
Ladies you have truly grown some stunning plants this year!
Altagardner this thread will be bookmarked so I'll be able to print out the names of the hardy beauties here for next years purchasing considerations (thank you everyone :).
Well here's part of my pepper crop.........I think I have about 400 bell peppers to freeze this year (and a few other unusual varieties that may now have enough time to get to mature size and/or colour).
They are in my sink....still have to rinse a few more times to remove the sand and dead leaves (not a pretty pic but they sure look good, healthy, and some are 3 times bigger than what can be found in a grocery store). :^)))
wow annabell! Those are simply stunning! I love the rich hues of the flowers!!
btw - took a day trip to Edmonton on Saturday aft/eve & got soooooooo lost trying to get out of Edmonton lol

Susan
You should have called I could have given you a hand!
The colors are outstanding and it's hard to get a really good photo of the flowers. They really look like they are glowing in the dark!
I am saving seeds so remind me and I will share.

Those Salpiglosis are very regal looking Ann (sorry I missed commenting on this before) and the two varieties compliment each other very nicely.
Nice sized mater and very photogenic..... which variety is it? Did you like eating it?
Pam
Lynn knows which ones she started ....I was just at the receiving end of the free T plants.
It was delish! Firm and lots of flavor with a touch of sweetness. One slice covered the whole piece of bread! I have more coming in the Greenhouse so we will see if more than the first few are that large.
Ann
annabell That pot of salpiglosis, must of been a sight to see. Did you get any frost yet?
Lily wonderful pepper, I can just imagine the dishes you'll serve up.
We got a bad freeze last night, Most of my tender annuals froze, under cover. Last year it went till October, before we got one like it.
This Hydrangea bloom late this year but is still looking good.
burn,
How did that corkscrew vine do for you? Mine never really amounted to much; was too cold and wet here in the spring I think...
Joanne
Cool - what a pretty bloom! They sure seem to be a bit of a delicate thing for our climate, maybe. Although we sort of knew that going in, I think. Thanks for the reply burn.
Joanne
Ann - don't know your ph#, so couldn't call you!
Grow-Jo - wanted to let you know that the cutting you gave me of the Cane Begonia is doing really well - nice and straight, and getting a new leaf. It's growing slowly because my house doesn't have a lot of natural light, but it's doing beautifully. Thanks again for the cutting :-)
Hey, that's great Tal-B! I was wondering how you were doing with it. Let me know if you ever want another one; I like to keep that plant hacked back to a reasonable size...
I would Love another cutting! s'funny - I was sent 2 cuttings via mail, and the one you brought me, but the one died (one rotted in the water) , and the other one is a mid-sized version. The one you brought is exactly right, and I love it :-)
-Susan-
ps: I'll d-mail you as well :-)

No frost here in Edmonton yet. some out of towners have been hit but so far we are ok.
Tallulah_
I will D mail my number so next time there will be a better chance!

altagardener~great thread, so many great ideas!
You all have such amazing gardens!
I hope you don't mind me joining in, even though my DG address is not Canadian - I am!
Up here visiting since August, and so enjoying the great weather for September! If ya all have any suggestions for my front yard (here in Calgary) I am working on changing it over from mostly lawn to mostly garden. I want to enclose it from the street with a hedge and will end up with a very shady area.
I don't have any decent answers to your quesions, Gardnerkett, but am sure enjoying your photos. :D Looks like lots of fall colors already in Calgary.
Welcome to the Canadian Forum!
Oh my, that is picture perfect, isn't it? Calendar/Magazine quality. Thanks for sharing. ☺
I love Mums in the fall but have never had luck growing them and then discovered that most of those lovely great big ones were several smaller planted in a big pot and placed in the flower beds! This one was given to me a couple of years ago and always flowers.
I have several nice Asters but things were so late this yea with the long wet spring that they have barely started to flower.
Carol~No damage from Gustov or Ike - thank goodness!! Lots of damage around us though. The picture is about a block from our house in the south.
Your garden is so amazing - now moving into its fall splendor!
I have booked my flight back Oct 10, but we are still considering if I stay and oversee our reno's, or trust our contractor to carry on himshelf. I missed seeing snow last year and really think I can live without it another year....tee hee.
If you have time drop by and share some Cdn gardening expertise with me.....please:~))
Joanna~Tidal Wave is such a good name for your Petunias - those are stunning!
Are those cut flowers all from "your" garden? Wow!!
Unfortunately we had high tide during Ike, so that did not help matters. The Blue house in this photo had just a wonderful garden in their front yard, so sad.
