How to divide japanese sedge

I planted this sedge in April. It very large already. Can anyone advise as to how and when to divide?

i would wait for the spring to divide it. The way I did some sedge I have is to tease apart the roots and stems into several pieces with stem and roots on each piece, if you can understand that. I like to divide in the spring because they winter better intact.

Yes: I will get some pics to help you.
Here is a thread I am doing on basic propagation. I am not sure how into the whole make more plants from what you have. But I thought you might like to look it over incase you are entertaining the idea. Just trying to helpful. Sorry for the delay between posts I have been out of town for a few days.
