CLOSED: ID needed for colorful insect on sedum

Hatfield, PA(Zone 6b)

My sedum has been attracting its regular bees and butterflies, but this colorful flying critter is new to me. So far I haven't been able to ID it.

It's an Ailanthus Webworm Moth.

Thanks, wallaby1. It looks like you identified it quite easily. There are lots of good shots of it that members have posted so there's no doubt about its identity.

You're welcome thyme, I did remember seeing it before, one which is hard to forget with those lovely white flower patterns on it! :)

Oh, good! I just snapped a photo of this colorful guy on one of my garlic chive blooms, and I was wondering what he was!

Looks like yours and mine are posing in almost the exact same position, critterologist! They sure are colorful, aren't they?

Yup! I've seen them before, but I was happy to get such a purty photo of him this time. :-)

I love the shot you got on that pink bloom...
