CLOSED: Is this a clearwing humming bird moth?

I don't trust myself enough to ID this cutie I shot today. Can you give me a name, female, male? Its about 1 1/2 to 2" long.

This is indeed a clear-wing hummingbird moth, it appears to be Hemaris thysbe - see http://www.cbif.gc.ca/spp_pages/misc_moths/jpgs/107853.jpg
It may be a male, based on the large tuft of hairs at the end of the abdomen - see http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/hthysbe.htm and scroll to bottom.

Thanks for the great links, I have seen that larvae before and wondered what it was. Its usually a couple of inches down in the soil in the spring.
