Today the biggest butterfly I've ever seen, about a 4 inch wingspread, was flitting from one verbena flower to the next for maybe 15 minutes. He(she?) was stopping long enough for me to take photos but the wings never stopped beating. I stopped the action as best I could with a high shutter speed. I think this is a Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes) but want some confirmation from the experts. This was such a beautiful creature! Here are several different views.
CLOSED: Giant Swallowtail?
