I think it's this Triceratops beetle, Phileurus truncatus.

Indeed! Really impressive and somewhat scary when you get hit by a flying one at night and you have no idea what hit you. At first I thought it was my neighbors delinquent kid playing with his slingshot til I heard it thump on the ground. They bounce good too.

It's a great site. I never realized how close I was to nature all around me until I started asking questions about everything I'd always just taken for granted.
