Weightloss Challange Aug 30 - Sept. 6th

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Fall is upon us. I see golden leaves falling from the trees already in a few places. The nights have been cool for some time here in central MO and even some days were nice enough to leave windows open for fresh air.

This is my first check to start paying utilities to the farm. I have to get rid of some of what I make at my job to continue to quailify for it in Jan and to continue to qualify for help in the medical field. This way I will be paying my own light bill and some on the LP gas bill. Next week I have to see Family Services and SS to see just how much I have to do.

Vic, did the rain get to soak in much or did it come to fast for that? I'm sure the pond is full by now. That is a relief. If the gardens got a good watering from this you will be set for a while. Can you set up large containers like barrels, buckets even to catch what may come your way from Gustav and Hanna? If you can do that you will be even further ahead as you will have water for the future. Maybe even use one for compost tea. I'm starting to work on one for that. I have the bag and some stuff in it already. I just need to figure out how to anchor it so it is always at the top for more fillings.

Susan, are you getting prepared for another onslaught? Or can you go somewhere again for a few more days. Did your house have any wind or water damage? Please dmail someone the phone # of where you will be if you leave home.

Anna, how are you for water nowadays? I haven't heard you mention it lately that I remember?

Tricia, will the storm interfer with Matt''s surgery? It sounds as tho the timeline is closing in on you. Do you have plenty of water and canned foods? I don't know how far inland you are from where where they are predicting the storm to hit but that will make a lot of difference for several of you. Please send someone on this thread your phone # and the one where you might be going so we can check in on you and your family. I assume your mother will be with you?

Debbie, we need phone #s for you and your family too so we can make sure you and yours are safe. You and Tricia can d-mail me or someone on the thread so we will have them.

Depending on the path these storms take there could be at least 4 of our little family affected by these storms. Cell phones will work for a while if they are well charged up but if electric power goes so will the ability to charge these phones. I know there are vehicle chargers but the fuel needs to be saved for driving to safety not charging phones.

Sue, you said he has to stay in China 7 days. Does that mean he will be back home in a week or off to Korea as you once mentioned?Today will be a day to keep busy yet it will still be hard. I'll be so thankful when this separation of your family is over. All of you need to be together.

Pebbles, as long as it is cyber cheesecake I'll be ok. I want this weight to STAY off. Not just one good day on the scales.

I need to get to town. Some things can't wait until Tues. GOD bless and keep each of you.
