Ipomoea Yardiensis

Townsville, Australia(Zone 10a)

Hi All,

I have just found a company here in Oz that has ipomoea yardiensis and Bonamia
pannosa listed. I have just contacted them to see if seed is available, it would be exciting if it is as I dont know anyone here in Oz that grows them, the bonamia pannosa I have never heard of, fingers crossed that they come through.

WOW Annette great find!! I am sure many of us here would be interested in obtaining some also. Maybe a co-op of sorts if they are available?

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

really i would love some if ever offered

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

That would be neat to do a co-op for some of the rarer seeds! Good idea, Ronnie!

They have a stash of seeds found at a certain spot, he is waiting to confirm if it is indeed the species, fingers crossed as this mg is as rare as hens teeth and would be great to get it going and around the world to star.

Very, very good possibility! How wonderful that you stumbled across this place! Good luck getting seeds from them! I would love to trade you for some of these seeds if you do get your hands on them! I look forward to seeing photos of them when you grow them out!!!

Hi annette - The Ipomoea yardiensis is an absolutely terrific find...(!)

I've been looking for this species for many years...

Glad to see that some of the rarer species on the list that I sent to you are actually showing up...

TTY,...

Ron

I would enjoy growing out a vine of each one, Annette, what a fantastic find!

Hi Ron,

Fingers crossed that the species supply is what it is supposed to be and seeds are made available, Dave the guy who has the site has had 3 enquiries thus far on this so the word is out that this is a mg that is lusted after, all going well it may be sooner rather than later that seeds are available.

Cheers Annette

Annette - LOL! I wonder if the other inquiries for this vine came after you posted the information here? I wouldn't be surprised. Tell Dave that you get first dibs on those seeds! :-)

(It wasn't me LOL)

Townsville, Australia(Zone 10a)

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

I sure hope the other inquiries are from some of the other people who I have asked to try and locate this species...

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Annette -

Wasn't me either, but I certainly would like to be in the waiting line for these seeds if you have luck with your contact locating them.

Super Find!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Not me either...come out come out whoever you are!!!LOL

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Maybe lurkers? Or maybe as Ron suggested ... some others on the look-out for this vine/seeds.

Hi Annette,

Have you heard any word about the Ipomoea yardiensis seeds as to when the seeds might be available?

Joseph

Townsville, Australia(Zone 10a)

Not as of yet, they are trialling them to see if it is the real deal:)

Yay let's all pray they are ok! LOL

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Absolutely hoping they are the real deal! :-) :-) :-)

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

shipping and handling is outrageous from overseas.. but I wouldn't mind having some seeds ;D

would it be easier/cheaper to get them sent to uk first??
just wondering

The company should know that we are willing to 'trial' the seeds / plants here and not hold it against them no matter what because:

There are no other bush type Ipomoea in Australia except for Ipomoea costata and Ipomoea polpha,so if they have a bush type Ipomoea...the seeds are more than likely to be :

Ipomoea yardiensis...

They should post a closeup photo of the seeds...

Simple...summary judgment...

Case closed before the 'trial'...

I'd love to try a vine of each, too...'twarn't me neither

From the Photo they look to be very tolarable to arid condition? (Ron? Becky? Annette?) I am not familiar with the varieties but am very interested (especially!) if that is the case, and if not I am still excited and CURIOUS about them in general as are all...
:D

Well the place that has the pics is from the arid parts of Oz and Yardie Creek is its home smack bang in Western Australia so would very much be leaning towards it being an arid ipomoea.
