Digger wasp - Scolia dubia
I should say one of the species might be.. you sure seem to have variety!

I just am not good with bugs. TY so much Angela for your time!
Yea, weve got a lot of bugs here ! LOL
Im almost tempted to sneak out there and take more piccies. lol They were so involved in that sedum they didnt notice me! LOL
Wow is right! Talk about working alongside of each other peacefully!
I was shocked lol. Im sure one of those is probably predatory, LOL.
Maybe sedum is their wacky weed, lol.
The first picture reminds me of a paper wasp. They are not usually aggressive and I would consider them beneficial insects.
I have a Russian Sage plant in my garden that is covered with all kinds of bees from late spring to frost. That bush just hums with big bumble bees to tiny bees.
Yea paper wasp but it's soooo hard to find which one LOL.
Can the same kind look different in different individuals?
I found one in the bugfiles that looks so close but its a bit different. Off to the net I guess LOL.
Bugs are so much fun.
