Yes, Harmony, there is a Chicken Fairy! And we call her CF to prevent too frequent repetition of her powerful name. Under no circumstances confuse her with TF--TamaraFaye. It makes both of them very cranky. Although TF is the Southwestern CF rep.

(Zone 7b)

Catscan Thanks i believe CF was here yesterday because my self blue hen hatched 11 bitty's.
That dust she carries is very potent i never would of believed all 11 would hatch.
I wonder if those hoof prints i find around my cages are CF and does she have plans for me?
Could there be more than one maybe a legion of them oh my gosh and my incubator is empty somebody help!!

I'm betting your incubator is suddenly going to be full in a few days...and you will have no idea where all those eggs came from...

(Zone 7b)

SSSSH! it's in the back closet i don't think she can get in there! Uh Oh What was that noise!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

can you hear when chicks are hatching

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I could hear them cheeping inside the eggs, and if I held the egg up to my hear, I can hear them tapping on it.

(Zone 7b)

On a serious note i have been planning to start my incubator up i haven't hatched since june and need to replace the chickens i have been selling. I have some new mondern game and have been collecting thier eggs as well as some others i have laying. I have alot of my breeders that are molting now and not laying because of it. I hatch year round as long as the weather is not too harsh i try not to have small chicks during jan & feb because those are our coldest months.
I generally hatch around 50 eggs at a time and have a 95% hatch but if i set a hen it's generally a 100% hatch. I'm currently actively breeding my Doves and Pigeons and will continue probably until december. So the chicken fairy and the Bird fairy have my address and a rented room! LOL *Harmony*

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

If you ever get a runty pigeon that you don't like, maybe you can ship it to Iowa!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

i think it oculd just fly there Claire!

LMAO here, glad to know the CF blessed you. i wonder, if you were to dmail here, if that woudl work better than paging? thinking Mali is in the Dead Zone for cell/pager service...

gotta get back on son's school work. check back later. will post breeder pens info. will be thrity days before i have eggs for hatching...

"t"f [currently un-associating myself from the Cf...]

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Mali is probably on Yak Mail service.

Gao, Mali

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

LOL

Lodi, United States

I am just throwing this out there:

Has anyone noticed that there seems to be a correlation between hurricanes hitting the US and the absence of the CF? At first I thought it might because they were disrupting her flight patterns--but then watching the Weather Channel it hit me. Where do hurricanes originate? Off the west coast of Africa as small atmospheric disturbances. Where is Mali? West Coast of Africa!

Coincidence? I think not.

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

no doubt.. I think she/he is sprinkling chicks abound!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL

I am afraid I am going to end up with an incubator soon.. I can't hold off much longer.. this sounds like toooo much fun!

Dust? Is that why I woke up sneezing with thoughts of saving $ for an incubator? I must have earned some CF points for agreeing to rescue some roos?

Oh no.. not another obsession!

(Zone 7b)

ZZ Oh please do try and incubator i hadn't tried one since a horrible incident with a styrofoam one i bought about 3 years ago. But i decided to get one last year and i'm glad i did because i really enjoy raiseing my own birds. I was ordering chicks but it became to expensive to make a profit when i sold them and they were somebody elses breed. I can now breed and raise my own stock and i know thier genetic backgrounds and can grin from ear to ear when i get compliments on my birds.
It's so satisfying to hatch them in your home and raise them on your own terms and know you personaly picked your choice of breeding stock created such beautiful and healthy birds.
I just love the genetics and to be able to go to different breeders and pick out and outstanding rooster then find the perfect 2 hens and have a dynamite trio. I anticipate the laying of eggs and then the setting and i count the days until the first pip. Then i watch in my brooder as the feathers grow and the colors emerge { i think i need my medication now } Anyway i whole heartedly suggest you give it a try.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

soundsliek the CF has a new rep in GA...

Lodi, United States

Will medication help?

(Zone 7b)

Medication "what medication"??? Who said i......but......I see chickens lots of chickens.......

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Meeeeeeee toooo!! How weird is that? LOL

Lodi, United States

Well, I am still in denial........I don't need any medication. No really, I don't. So just take those little pills away. I am happier in here alone with my chickens.

(Zone 7b)

"What Medication"?.........I have not seen any.............said.......taken..............oh look at the birdies............That wasn't me.............her........Helloooooooooooo?
