Bird Link Thread?

(Zone 7b)

Here's a link on incubation http://library.thinkquest.org/05aug/00044/id33.htm

Here's another good site on incubation it says alot about temp and humidty http://www.shilala.com/incubating.html

Please rememeber sytrofoam eggs cartons could break down in the heat of the incu releaseing toxic fumes that could harm your eggs.
I would recommend you lay them on thier sides on cheese cloth 3 days before they hatch this helps with the hatching mess. You could use cardboard cartons instead of styrofoam and you can recycle these.

[HYPERLINK@www.browneggblueegg.com] has many chicken care and health articles, interesting, fun, heartwarming and sad stories, lots of photos of beautiful birds An invaluable source of information on chickens.

the housechickens yahoo group has tons of information in the Emergency Info file.

And then there is [HYPERLINK@dlhunicorn.conforums.com] which contains more information that you will ever be able to digest. Diana is AMAZING at researching, finding and compiling articles and links.

And strange as it may seem, the gamecock fighters seem to be vast stores of knowledge about chicken health and nutrition. (And no, I do not advocate the "sport"; I abhore it.)

Here's a page from Metzer farms that compares the nutritional differences between duck eggs and chicken eggs:

Tried to redo this thread w/out the chatter and couldn't get most of the links to work. Will work on it more though. Anyone who can edit in specifics not in their original post please do so...

Here is a useful link on what is a normal looking chicken poop and what is not normal.

This helped me when I was new to chickens and wasn't sure what was normal.
