CLOSED: Dead...Beetle?

(Zone 7a)

I found this unfortunate creature in the parking lot of a Walmart. Hubby helpfully donated his light for scale.

What was it?

Hiya ..

From the looks of it .. it 'could' be a Rhinocerous Beetle ?
Remember seeing one at the University here ( in a jar ).

Here's a write up on it http://www.extremescience.com/StrongestCreature.htm

This is a long-horned wood-boring beetle (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the genus Prionus. The larvae of some species can be quite destructive, boring in the roots of trees - see http://extension.usu.edu/files/publications/prionus7-14.pdf

Thank you both. I was thinking rhinoceros beetle but it is the long horn.
