Ipomoea leptophylla is actually a non-twining herbaceous bush type...the younger stems can be upright but older stems tend to trail...

Argyreia cuneata is an upright evergreen bush in the tropics

Ipomoea longituba is a bush

although we haven't gotten it to grow into one yet...

The Ipomoea trees are part of the Arborescens series and include
Ipomoea arborescens

amongst alot of others...

There are also trees in other genera e.g.,
Convolvulus floridus

Porana species abound in India and neighboring countries but are difficult to track down...the fragrant wood is often used for crafting many different things...

Hope that helps...
