Lol - I would just feel bad sending you plants that you had to pay shipping and packaging on to just have them be dead or not grow for you!! You do realize that they are only supposed to grow in zones 4-9 and you are in 10 right!? : )
All Milkweeds Wanted Please!
Yes, but I have Swamp Milkweed plants and one is about to bloom. Those are also zones 4-9, but I have them growing...........Well.........wait.................you want me to pay shipping?
The prices of gas are causing shipping to become quite expensive and I would not mind going out and digging these plants up for you and packing them with love and all but I would think you should pay for the box, packing materials and cost to ship. So yes I would not be able to pay for that for you.
because of gas I can not pay ether.
Danny, maybe you should have become more familar with how trading works before and and done more planning sooner. Do you really expect people to ship you plants and you not have to pay for it?? Maybe by next year you could have a big start on this monarch heaven.
okay :-)
Yes, nanny, that sounds like a good suggestion for Danny.
The price of shipping is making trading not as fun and easy as it once was.
Danny, I think your monarch 'heaven' will be very serviceable this summer with just the A. currassavica and one or two other MWs until next year when you can do your seed starting and expand your garden with all the others.
(I think if you research a little bit you will find out the Monarchs go for the tender leaves of the A. curassavica first and will use the other MWs as back ups for the most part. Of course, you probably have discovered that already...)
Well right now I have a whole bunch of Asclepias Curassavica plants and 1 Calotropis Gigantea tree. I have about 4 -5 Asclepias Syriaca seedlings(4'' tall), but I want more bigger plants because my seedlings are growing very slow...I also have 1 Asclepias Sullivantii seedling. Same situation...Then I have 1 giant Asclepias Incarnata pink about to bloom and a couple of seedlings. Not so much as in the same situation.
Danny this is a good place to start learning about how trading works. http://davesgarden.com/tools/trading_primer/
Yes I saw that when I made my first trade with Mrs_Ed. Thanks though.
This guy has been reported to Daves. he's not paying postage when he gets his plants/seeds.
You need to ask for postage up front before doing plants/seeds for postage.
I only post here because he tried this with me also. refused to pay postage on what he asked for. It's not fair to all of you here. So BE warned! Appologies if I'm stepping on toes. I hate to see anybody get ripped off.

Yep my radar said conman
Diddo!!!
Danny, I just saw the updates here on this thread, and I'm disappointed.
I didn't like the initial "I want, I want" language of the thread and Dmailed him on Aug. 20 with some suggestions -- how trading works, please read the trading primer, about sending postage, a link to an article I wrote about seeds for SASBE, etc. Then I realized he did have a "have" list on his trade list and had been arranging some potential trades on this thread, so I followed up with a more conciliatory note. I thought maybe I was wrong in assuming he was asking for seeds & plants outright because he hadn't gotten oriented to the way things worked here. I guess my instincts were right the first time, and that's too bad.
It's a trading forum, not a "gimme" forum.
Danny, you do have a chance to make things right with people. Communication is key. Stop asking for things, and if somebody sent you something, send them something in return -- or at least Dmail people to apologize. If you want seeds from me, you'll have to send me your part of the trade or postage first, and others will probably ask the same of you. But if you straighten things out from now on, you'll can still become the sort of trader who is welcome here. It's up to you, though, and you got a rocky start.
About your little seedlings... don't worry, they will amaze you by next spring!
Appologize? he did that with me still wanted the seeds but refused to pay postage. He should honor the folks that sent him things for postage by paying for the postage. So I wouldn't send, and he had the nerve to ask me why I wouldn't send them.
I wonder if he's a child or adult member here on daves. And I don't mean that in a bad way.
It's plain to see, that he has this " well you offered " attitude and feels he doesn't need to send postage.
I too explained the rules to him , all the while he 's still asking for seeds and denying ever knowing about owing postage on them.
Lucky it's just seeds he's wanting maybe folks won't get stepped on too much.

Sorry guys. I will try to stop. I am still learning and Kathy Ann taught me very important things.
Danny, just hang out on this forum for a while and see how folks handle things... you'll see how this works. If you're interested in butterfly plants, go hang around on the butterfly and hummingbird forum too. There are some real experts there. You just can't expect people to send you seeds and (especially) plants without at the very least offering to pay postage costs. That said, the trading forums here at DG are a wonderful opportunity to build a diverse garden at low cost. I hope you try to redeem yourself and become a trader in good standing here.
Thank-you for understanding and for the advise. I will. I will try to make some friends.
I too have talked with Danny, He is l2 years old, and explains an aweful lot.
He's asked me how to fix this mess he's in, I've given him some tips. (contacting his traders and offering to pay for the postage he owes.) Hopefully this can all be straightened out, and he can make amends with his traders.
Thank-you Kathy Ann. She helped me alot. I am sort of better now!
Just don't let your traders down, go through with your trades when you make them and make sure to pay for postage that is due.
You'll get through this. and you'll be a better person for it.
Hang in there!
I have faith in you . Specially since your a l2 year old LOL

Your right. They must feel horrable. Thanks.
Danny I just edited my post.
You got off on the wrong foot trading, you'll know better now.
many people will be willing to help you with your seed collecting. It's wonderful to have youngsters on daves garden especially when they show such an interest in butterfly gardening as you have.
Thank-you. Will you be my friend? So you like the fact that I am young?
YOur taking my post out of context. I like the fact that you have such a love for butterfly gardening at a young age.
that's all I meant.
oh okay. Thanks.
Danny, I think it's fantastic that you want to build a butterfly garden! And you found a great bunch of people here at Dave's that can offer you advise and encouragement.
I started my butterfly garden last year and raised my first caterpillars earlier this summer. In total, I released back 26 Black Swallowtails. I currently have 3 monarch chrysalis' that I'm waiting on. Like you, I plan on adding more butterfly plants next year.
Good luck to you! And really, really try to be a great trader - the DG's traders are the most generous, sharing people I've met. You'll want to be able to trade with them.
Rules state that no one under 13 allowed. The last post from Danny sounds inappropriate to me.
Thanks chatnoir.
Do you want me to leave then nanny_56?
If you're not 13, it's not a matter of what anybody "wants"... why don't you contact admin (there's a button on the bottom of the page) and ask them what you should do about your subscription? Maybe they could put it on "hold" until your next birthday, or maybe you could transfer it to an adult in your life who likes gardening. This isn't a popularity issue, it's just site policy.
okay. Well I could let my dad take over.
LOL I give up on this .
Critter, I guarantee admin is reading this thread.
