I took some cuttings and am rooting it, I agree that it is a beauty:)

It should root with no problem. If you don't have luck, let me know. I have very few seeds from my vines from last year and would be happy to share with you. Also, I know 'how' to ship them to Australia *-*

Thanks Emma, it is great to 'know',it looks like the indica I collected may set some seeds also hehe, I have got a collection of mgs to sow and hav e been waiting for my holidays to be over and back home so I can sow, must have 30 plus varieties to try.I know that I will have a ball doing this.

Hi Annette,

Not all Ipomoea indica plants will set seeds. For years, I didn't think mine would either but did find only about 4-pods last year.

We will look forward to seeing blooms from your MGs.
Wow zone 10a ! ! !

I would be in heaven for sure. Do you realize the types of extremely rare native and exotic Morniing Glories you can grow in your zone.

Ahh first it is the matter of tracking them down, yes very lucky here with my tropical climate, I have a lot on the go at the moment Stictocardia beraviensis, turbina corymbosa, lots of nils, aquatica, merremia, convolvuluses to name a few, I cant get the mina lobata to germinate is there a trick to this one?

Go the morning glory:)

Annette - I am in the same zone as you. It takes the Mina lobata longer to germinate than my other MG seeds. Not sure why. I've had no luck getting any of mine to produce seeds. And this year, it just kinda fizzled out. Never even had any flowers. We did get quite a bit of rain though. I am thinking this one doesn't like a lot of moisture ... and mine seemed to prefer being grown in the ground than in a pot.

Thanks for that, I will perserve and see how I go or not go.

Annette,
I have only grown Mina Lobata 2x over the years and both times didn't have trouble getting seeds to germinate, even though I understand they are sometimes tricky. You might try coffee filter/zippy bag method to germinate the seeds and see what luck you have with that.

Will look up the coffee filter method and see how I go or grow whichever the case maybe....

Try anything once.

Just sowed some nil 'plum velvet' seeds, cant wait to see what happens there.

D-mail me your email address and I will send you germination instructions . . .
