Bad dreams thread.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I hope its okay to start this thread lol.
I have been having some bad dreams, just woke up from one and its bothering me.

I dreamed I was in moms kitchen that was half mine in my house and half hers and then something happened to my tongue and it was like peeled back and I was bleeding everywhere. I was crawling on the floor towards the livingroom and some woman I knew, not mom or my family, but I can't remember who was on the couch looking at me, I was reaching out trying to get her to help me (couldn't talk) and she just started at me like "oh god, that's gross, stay away". SHe never talked though. Boo (the baby) was running around so I grabbed him and went to leave to go to my grandmas and then the woman stopped me and tried to take boo and then I beat the holy crap outta her and then I woke up.

Does this mean something? I'm confused because it isn't a normal bad dream for me.

I really just needed to write it down I think cause I'm home alone right now with Boo and the house is so quiet with him sleeping.

What's yall's latest nightmares?

Boo say's "I'll protect to mommy, grrrrrr."

The brain is a strange place! All kinds of anxieties surface in our dreams - such as feeling helpless, losing someone, being lost or in a strange place - and the "story-line" of the dream doesn't necessarily mean anything, it's just the way we connect up all these emotions that have nowhere to go at the time. Being someone with a poor sense of direction, I often dream that I can't find my way home, and wander for hours through all the cities I've lived in, driving cars that went to the scrap heap long ago, without being able to locate my house. I've had nightmares about intruders, and woken up with my heart pounding like footsteps in the hall outside the bedroom door. But they are just dreams, horrible as they are at the time, they have no reality. Rest easy!

Oh, gosh! I can't tell you all the bad dreams I've had. Not so much since about a year after moving in with current hubby. (15 years and counting) But sometimes the old brain does a number on me. I don't have time now or I'd give a few examples. Some just stick out and you remember them for a very long time.

Be back tonight.

Ill be waiting to hear about those lol. The ones that stick are always the worst.

Thank you June, it's just unsettling at times I guess. Especially in time of high stress, lol, and when you're home alone LOL!

Once dreamed I saw Dad fall from a ladder- brief but sad of course.
One really freaky one I'll keep personal.
Mostly not horrible like you had but often school related- lost books, can't find room, lost on campus. School was not that difficult for me, but maybe social stress at that age is being played back this way.

I nightmare quite often. The venue can change, but the storyline is always the same. "Someone" evil is trying to get into my home. I can't keep the door shut, or I can't keep the door locked. "They" always get in. And just before I wake up, the "person" is standing by my bed, looking at me. I wake up screaming.

I live in an apartment building now, and my downstairs neighbor has heard me scream during the night. We've joked that he thought I was having the best lovin' ever - lol !

The other nightmare I have is where I dream I get up out of bed and walk around my home for awhile. Then I really wake up and get out of bed, and it feels like dejavu. Unnerving and scary.

Yikes, I suppose it's not good to talk about these things just before bed, but one time I dreamed that my moms legs fell off while she was cooking dinner, I was a child when I dreamed that one and I still remember it.
I don't know if this is considered a nightmare but it's definitely weird. The last one I had was almost 3 weeks ago, the day I came home from the hospital from my surgery. I dreamed I was back in Modesto driving on one of the city streets. I was driving my new Toyota Tacoma, which was totaled last February, and had an empty metal cage in the back floorboard. I got behind a California Highway Patrol driving one of their 1985 Mustangs, they haven't used those cars in years, but anyway I was in such a big hurry for whatever reason I decided to pass her in the middle of the intersection against oncoming traffic. Of course she pulled me over and asked why I had done that, and the fact I stopped in a no stopping zone. Suddenly there were crickets everywhere. I told her that I was taking care of my friends crickets while she was on vacation and the door to the cage came open and they all had gotten out. She said ok and went back to her patrol car. I started cleaning out these crickets, which took quite a while, and when I was done I went to find her, but she was on the street corner with all of her DJ stuff out of the car, and DJing for the cars driving by, so I just took off so she couldn't write me a ticket, then I woke up.

LOL A cop playing DJ!!! That's a good one, Crissy.

Okay, I have a recurrent dream that I dream regularly, probably twice a year. I'm on a tilt-table. The kind Dr. Frankenstein used. The room looks just like the good Dr's. I'm strapped to the table and my mouth is gagged. I try to ask why I'm on the table but I can't open my mouth. I can hear noises behind me but I can't see them. I start to struggle to get out of the straps but they keep getting tighter as I struggle. When I really can't try any harder to get out is when someone comes into my view. That's always when I wake up and never know who it is.

I blame that one on the pain medication LOL!
That's weird Celia. That one would freak me out.
It's past my bedtime, darn. Night Night All!

I love the crickets! Generally, I think that my dreams are just my brain playing with random bits of info stored there, like the crickets. But I have no theory that deals with recurring dreams.

Night, Crissy!
