Hi all,
I've never posted on this forum before but I could sure use some help. I have some seeds, mostly Pansy, Snapdragons and Dianthias that have been refrigerated for around two years now. Some were gathered and some purchased. I was not able to use them last year and I'm curious what the odds are that they are still good.
Thanks,
Nancy

I'm not sure what happens if they stay in the fridge for that long--definitely if they'd just been sitting around in a cool dark place I'd say you should still get OK germination so it's worth trying, but I'm not sure if being in the fridge for that long might have some negative side effects. Never hurts to try though.
Snaps and dianthus are good for me for well over 2 if they're properly harvested and stored although the germination rate drops a bit. I get really poor germination with pansys after 2 years.
Thanks all. After reading your comments and doing some research I'm planning to keep most all except the pansy seed.
