The Chronicles continue in Edmonton!

Good job nurse annabell!!!! Nice to se the boys out and about again. I agree, Bullwinkle might need a bath sometime during his travels. And nice to see Sam too!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Cute pictures & travel news.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Thanks !
You are right about the Bullwinkle bath , he doesn't sponge off as easy as Dave and Sam.
Well.... the Boys will be passed off to jagonjune today and continue their travels.
It has been fun having them and distracted me from this 35 feeling like 100 degree heat.

I look forward to seeing all the other sights that the Boys see.

I'm having a visit in the middle of nowhere BC(ASHCROFT) and it was 39.7 the other day!!!! Much nicer today. Windy and cool, with a few bouts of rain over the day.

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

Yes, it has been in the upper 30's for the past several days. We recorded 38.5, and 38.8 last Friday and Saturday. Monday it had dropped to 35.9. Now the whole province is enjoying a lovely cool down, especially the Southern Interior. But we only had a day of rain so far...and were expecting so much more...sigh

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Great pix Ann! Loved the tours.

That's great fun. I'm glad the dogs were such great hosts too.

I read recently of a larger gnome that got stolen from a garden in England somewhere, and one day turned up back on the owner's doorstep complete with a photo album showing the gnome's travels in 12 different countries.

We're going to have a wonderful Canada tourism feature here with the travels of our two little guys. There's so much I haven't seen in this country yet, though I've been almost all the way across it.

Maybe I'll just go with, when I send the guys on from here

Counting down the days (and frost warnings) until the boys arrive ..

Hope all is well

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Well .. the A/C is OFF .. and the furnace is ON !!! At least the boys will be warm once they get here .. in fact .. I have NO doubt they'll be sitting beside the woodstove warming up after their trip .. speaking of which .. I hope they're doing OK in Alta :-)

I know that the person that might have Dave and Bullwinkle is very conscientious so her silence speaks volumes to me. It may be that people will want to wait until next spring for their journey to continue (?).

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Have we lost the boys?

If we just were kept in the loop.........we'd understand.........

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi Guys
There is a bit of a hicup,Please excuse us, they will be on their way shortly.

Anything happening?

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi All
Thanks for your patience!
I have been able to rescue the Boys!
I was called by GGSS,(Garden Gnomes Social Services) and advised that they were in need of saving.
I have now put them safely in their box with Dhalianut's address on it. They will be sent by Priority post in the morning.
More info about this hicup will come from Jagonjune later.
Thanks again for your huge patience.
Ann

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WOOO HOOO .. thanks for the update Ann ... the GGSS should be up for an award of some sort :-) (you as well of course)

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

the boys arrived in the middle of a wake! they had way too much more than their share of the grief and the grape. social services rescued them from the cellar (wine that is), me they aren't so sure about. on the glass is half full side, they had a good rest and dave's leg is ready for anything (maybe he can ski in the gatineau this winter)

ps the wake was for my best friend of 13 years CAPRICORN who remained the joy of my life until her last breath and there will never be another like her

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Oh (((Lynn))) my sincere condolences are being sent to you!

Pam

(edited because I think I now know who Capricorn was........I'm so sorry to hear of your heartbreaking news Lynn)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Loosing a pet is such a heartbreaker......the grief hits so hard and fast.:'( Sending another hug to you!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Ohmigosh Lynn .. as cliche as this is whenever you say it to someone .. I am going to say it anyway .. "Been there, done that' and .. it sux !!!
I could continue with stories of my Rainbow Bridge pets .. but .. even after all these years .. even after the fact that I can now finally SMILE when I think of them .. the 'owie in my heart' is still there.
I totally understand the effect losing Capricorn has made on your life, and I wish you all the very best in the upcoming weeks.
AND, trust me .. she is still there in spirit !!

Huge hug

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Lynn, for so many of us, our 4 legged kids are the only kids we have. Capricorn will be with you always in your heart. I hope the grief will lessen in time.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Lynn - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We've all been there, but it doesn't make it any easier. I hope the time will come when you'll be able to smile at the memory of Capricorn, but I know there is a huge hole in your life at the moment.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hello all:
As soon as I can, I'll be picking the boys up, and they can continue the Chronicals In Calgary :-)

Guess I'll need to start a new thread. I'll let you know asap.
btw - as soon as I can means as soon as I can get through the Deerfoot traffic, without hitting rush hour lol

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Tallulah_B - glad to hear that you will be picking the boys up soon. Probably not necessary to start a new thread until we have close to 200 messages unless they are all pictures, when it might be fewer or unless we want to routinely start a new thread in each area.

Ann

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, it's just that the Edmonton thread isn't a Calgary one, and we have several Calgarians (4?) that will be escorting the boys around. That'll be a lot of pictures.
It just sounded like it would make sense to start it now, rather than when it gets large and have Calgary in 2 different threads.

Don't worry - I won't let anyone lose us.

- Susan -

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Take care Susan .. and HAPPY GNOMING !!! :-)
