Morning Glory Seed Saving

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the following things:

1. How I tell if the MG has seeds
2. How I tell if the seed pod is ripe
3. Storage tips for MG seeds

Thanks a bunch!

1. A seed pod will form right where the bloom was. It will start out as a little green 'ball' attached to the vine. (think small un-ripe blueberry)

2.The seed pod will turn from green, to yellow, to tan, and appear fairly dry.

3. I simply break open the little pods and remove the black seeds. Some people just store the pods, but that can cause mold if they are not quite dry yet. I let the seeds dry on a plate for a week or so indoors, and then put them in containers. Paper will 'breathe' better than plastic, but that is personal preference. I then store in a closet with all of my other seeds after I have labeled the container. Seeds like dark conditions with constant temperatures and lower humidity.

Thanks! I think I might have some pods forming :)
