Anyone with fritillaria seed experience?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I bought s few new fritillaria persica bulbs this year, and one of them responded by putting forth a couple seed pods. Has anyone ever grown these before? The only seed growing experience I have comes from buying a few packets from the store, planting them in soiless mix, and then usually killing them by over or under-watering them. Frit bulbs are expensive and particular, & I love the plants, so learning how to grow the seeds would be worth the effort on this one.
Any assistance gratefully received!

The only experience of bulb raising I've had is with lilies I'm afraid gos but I think, as with most bulbs, the same principles apply. Firstly the little seedlings are the juicy caviar of the plant world - they seem to attract all sorts of nasty and ravenous beasties Mine just got slugged - by slugs. I did manage to raise some in the end but had to be really diligent with the handful that remained. I don't suppose it's really worth it but you could try planting them next to the parent plants and hoping for the best. There's safety in numbers after all.

Thanks, Rosie! I feel bad that this plant (which I adore) decided to produce seeds on me--- I'm notoriously bad at seeds. I do ok for this first bit, but then tend to neglect them just when they're toddlers & need the most!
I have a slug problem, too. Sometimes I put out beer in a shallow dish, & then finish the rest of the beer off myself-- that's enjoyable gardening! ;-)

I too adore fritillaria Pat but only have the bulbs - no seed ever. I find them easier to grow in containers especially as my garden is a tip - I won't disgust you with a photo. But then I've only been gardening here for 2 years. This is the worst garden I've ever tried to cultivate - it's so wet and NEVER dries out. Lost a few veggies to the incessant rain and am now planiing raised beds for both veg and flowering plants. It will look somewhat uniform and less than attractive but at least it will be productive.
I have two cats. Molly is a seriel killer and keeps leaving me festering corpses in unlikely places - last time I found a mummified mouse in a box of tissues. Stella is named by my son after a famous Belgian lager so you can see we are pretty keen on the amber liquid too.
I garden organically and have discovered that milk works just as well as beer for slugs but I get a bit squeemish disposing of the resulting soup so I swapped to organic slug pellets this year - and they work!
