bloomimg tonight (african adeniodies)
Hi Marie - Nice plant...
The seeds must have somehow gotten mixed up and / or mislabeled because the plant that you posted above is Ipomoea carnea...
Here are the seeds of Ipomoea carnea

my Ipomoea carnea seeds are consistent with the above photo...
Here are the leaves on a seedling of Ipomoea carnea

all of my Ipomoea adenioides seeds look like this...
Here are the leaves on the Ipomoea adenioides seedling clearly visible in the photo that you sent to me 2 years ago that show the characteristic oblong leaves

I did send you Ipomoea adenioides as shown in the photo above and it was at that time accurately labeled...
The seeds, tags and labels must have subsequently gotten mixed up somehow...
Thanks for sharing...
Ron
P.S. - Hoping the drought lessens up for you so that the vine leaves in the photos

can get the much needed water...
these seeds with others came from a friend who is currently in africa . he has bought and picked several mg seeds for me from there and other places.
Ron these are in no way the ones you sent me. i only have the ones from last year that were perrinals growing. didnt want to start precious seeds in this drought. which all seeds are precious but something that means too much.
all the ones from you i have grown are on the other side of the yard right now so i dont get them mixed up.
the pink ones i posted earlier in another thread are also from him and http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/886341/
all sent to me as a gift . i asked you if you could id a few sometime back when they bloomed and by seeds. i told you i only had a few seeds of each and was planning to grow them out.
i have several mgs growing right now and some include yours. but this one above that is clearly a mg bush came from africa and my friend who doesnt know anything about them and just buys seeds.
me personally have never grown Ipomoea carnea as my mg bush is umm lept something the other bush one. i got seeds to it from a source of plants in new mexico.
so this was a new one for me too. so now it has a name.
as far as the drought we are 12 ft down in our main lakes. i water ever day and it seems it isnt enough. i see rain across the street and it never comes our way. some places havent had rain in months. its hard trying to get seeds and plants going.
i really havent started any but what i have posted. the new green house will be up and running this winter and plan to start a whole lot of them over the winter. just right now im praying for what i have in the ground to survive. i have already lost bushes and irises and stuff that just needs the rain so desperately.
blessing to all and praying for rain Rie
