This little guy was in my kitchen -- noisy!! Finally caught and released (he was fast). :)

What was he?

(Captured in Southeastern PA (Bucks County))

I think it's a Red-headed Bush Cricket, Phyllopalpus pulchellus

Oh! Thank you claypa! I wonder what the different backs indicate? (Mine was shinier/gold with the shield marking of sorts -- others are like that in the photos, but some are smooth/almost striped backs?)

Not sure, but I think it's gender differences. There's some discussion of this on the bugguide site, click on the pics and scroll down to read the comments. I'd guess yours is a male.
