Found this on my window just now. It's pretty big. Almost 3 inches long, counting the wings. Anyone seen it before?

It’s a cicada ( Order Homoptera, Family Cicadidae), but I’m not sure about what species is it. There is a pege about cicadas in the BugsFiles: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/b/Homoptera/Cicadidae/none/none/genus/0/

Thanks! Yeah, I figured it out. As soon as I showed the picure to my husband, without any hesitation he said it was a cicada. Hehe, apparently something pretty common.
