New buckling is here!

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

ok.. heres the weird.. my babies daddy (lol) has NO odor... what is that all about..
Now mind you I can't smell, but I have been told.. no, not by the owner, but dh says he can't smell anything either.. there is no buck smell on their farm.. the vet thinks it is weird too.. he is a daddy 4x to 4 sets of twins.. (and for sale).. Why would a buck have no odor?

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

ummmm. deodorant?

bucks vary on how smelly they are. I think our Chip is going to be a smelly one since at 6 months he's got a goaty smell to him already (and a nice beard started). Count your blessings frans530 !

Oh gosh yes frans, we got rid of our goats back in april i think and when the wind is just right I can still smell his stink. OMG he was horrible. I do not that smell.

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

No Molly, I didn't get him...
The lady that owns him is selling out.. so she has him listed.. two milking does and 2 baby does for sale.. all reg nubians..
but I found it interesting that he didn't smell.
The 2 does are 2 years old and the billy is 3. the babies are 4 months.

So you got the does and kids?

MollyD

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

nope.. not yet.. I only bought one of the kids.. right now I can't afford to buy any more.. but told her if she cannot sell them I would take them.. She likes that idea and will try to sell for another week. So anyone thats interested.. dmail me if your serious.. I think the kids are $100. and the does are $150... the does are registered and the kids are registerable.. or already registered.. I don't remember.. I know they showed the kids at the fair this year and fot blue ribbons on all 4 of them..

We were out at the goat farm today and I arranged to buy two does. One will be joining us next week. She's 13 months old so she will be able to hold her own against Milly and Bonny. She will be bred to Chip in mid October so that her babies arrive in mid to late March. Her formal name is something Angel (can't remember the first part of it ). I will just call her Angel.
The other is a 5 month old who I won't bring home till I have set up an area for her. She will live with my wether who is roughly her size. She's too little to live with the does yet. Her name will be Della. Her # is 76 so Paul wanted to call her Philadelphia. We compromised on Della. She won't be bred till next year probably in April or May. She too is for Chip.
We're now looking for a doe or two for the twin boys. Personally I would sell one of the twins but Paul is emphatic that we keep both of them (sigh) so I'm stuck. Maybe by spring he'll relent and let me sell the paint.
