Here is my purpurea blooming at 8:00... What's so cool about that you ask?! It was 8:00 P.M.!!
It was stormy and dark all day with a sudden break in the sun mid evening and it got very bright. I guess that triggered something. There are some still open now at 10:30!!

if cloudy enough have had mine open till about 7 at night here but usually heat does them in. and yours looks so cool. love purple
The funny part was they hadn't "stayed'' open all day, they didn't open until evening!
