I just finished a two level rock garden with walls 1-1/2 high (15' long x 2-1/2' deep). I have two conifers waiting to go in - Tsuga canadensis 'Jeddeloh' and Juniperus horizontalis 'Mother Lode'. The soil is acid, sandy and well amended - Zone 5 ( or the new 6) with half day sun and very little wind. Any suggestions for other conifers or perennial trailing companion plants? This rock garden sits next to a pond and waterfall.

Juniperus conferta...shore juniper
It has a soft texture to it and cascades nicely.
