Found this on my tomato plant -- I don't want to relocate him if he won't harm the veggies. What is it? Thanks. (Ignore the piece of twine under him.) One more picture to follow.

I'd call this a 'bad guy'; it's in the family Noctuidae, and looks suspiciously like a yellow-striped armyworm (Spodoptera ornithogalli) - see http://www.robsplants.com/images/critters/SpodopteraOrnithogalli040830.jpg
