Noid bloom...help??

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Mark, what a great idea of yours. Someone should have all of them. I have a few, but they are new cuttings and have not bloomed yet. I'm not totally sure of their names either.
Such confusion. At least it keeps my old brain active, searching for the answers.

It sure would be interesting to see the foliage and blooms of all of those together for comparison. I've never heard of halophila, pubifera, or burtoniae! I googled for images of burtoniae and found some gorgeous hoya photo's: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+hoya+burtoniae&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title The burtoniae really does look a LOT like the kentiana and wayetii.

San Francisco, CA

I have good images of wayetii and DS-70.
Lourdes has inconsipcua,
Carol has aff. pubifera (right?)
Who has kentiana, aff. angustifolia, or burtoniae and a good camera?
If I can get good shots of all of these (maybe one close-up of the flowers, with a centimeter ruler close to the flowers, and one shot of the foliage) I'd be happy to cobble them all together into a reference sheet (praise Photoshop).

I have H. kentiana and "wayetti"..side by side in the same window(north).
Here is "Wayetti"

Mark, that is so nice of you to offer to do that for all of us! That is exactly what I need, a reference sheet with photo's side by side to see the difference in both flowers and foliage! I have such a hard time trying to go from photo to photo ... need them all on the same page for my old eyes! I hope someone has those other hoyas.

Threeg: Lucky you having both the kentiana and wayetti. They do look identical to me, just one having the dark edges and one not. The plant I have didn't get the dark edges until I moved it to bright sunlight. I think someone ID'd it as kentiana when I posted a photo at the time I bought it and it had always been in the shade.

AH, and you have an IML number in that kentiana, 3G, so you know that id is correct!

Mark, I can get a good pic of the leaves, my son has a great camera and he is home. The flowers I have to wait until if blooms again. Do you want the picture of the leaves?
Sorry, I forgot to thank you Mark for offering to do this.

Sure, Lourdes. Try taking a kind of closeup photo of a couple of "typical" looking leaves with a centimeter ruler held next to them. If the ruler is a bother, just a photo that clearly shows the shape of the leaves and how flat they are. That is a bit tricky, I usually have to take about a dozen photos before I get one that does the trick.
The joy of digital!

Mark...isn't DS-70 the hoya that was named H. burtoniae? It was also called H. tsangii at one point. DL now says that H. odetteae is the real H. tsangii. Who is on first?

(Zone 1)

^_^ Confusion!%@? hee hee ... I have seen the EA hoyas labeled as H. tsangii and H. bilobata but have never seen one labeled ds-70. Had never heard of burtoniae and odetteae is a new name for me too. Gotta go google that one!

San Francisco, CA

Carol, DS-70 and burtoniae are similar, but different species. Check out the David Liddle catalog. CB has spelled out the differences somewhere- offhand I remember that the leaves on burtoniae are more a purple color. Really a pretty plant.
Yeah, the name "tsangii" now belongs to the one that used to be called "odetteae".
Which is on second?
No, WHO is on second... Which is at home plate.
