I found this big beetle on an Angel Trumpet. Though, it was seen on the plant for half of a day or so. There was no ividence of foliage damage.
Could it be the Green Fig Beetle? Please help I.D. this true bug, I'd like to add its picture onto the bugfile.
CLOSED: Green June Beetle? Please help confirm.
not a Green Fig Beetle... nor a true bug...my best guess would be a ground beetle; possibly Calosoma spp...maybe C.sycophanta... a 'caterpillar hunter'

This appears to be Calosoma scrutator, the fiery searcher or caterpillar hunter - see http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/showimage/508/
Thank you both for your help. I'll add this pix to our bf.
