Bluebirds Fledge on the Farm

Thanks Nanny...it was my pleasure believe me!!

I was walking the dogs this morning and took a very long shot of some birds on a tree top When I looked at them on the computer I was really really happy to see this poor pic of Papa and Baby Blue!! I had a feeling they would stay on the farm and was so glad I decided to take this shot.

Yippee :-) I am very fond of specific birds too.

Makes ya feel all warm & fuzzy!

Not that bad a shot, Rose, especially considering the distance. Junior looks sharp on my screen. Glad to see they are staying around. Mine are still carrying mealies to the tall trees but I suspect that will change in a few days. They fledged a week ago today.

I finally went up the hill to the area where I had seen the Bluebirds and was so happy to get a few long shots!

I didn't see Papa or Super Fledge during this time but later in the afternoon they and Mama came to the back yard and took a bath!!

They are the best parents...I loved the way Mama broke up all the food before feeding!

Great pictures Rose! We don't have the bluebirds here so I am really enjoying your pics. The Gambel's Quail we have are wonderful families. Mama, papa & siblings all protect & care for the babies. Very endearing.

Thanks Angele, I went up to the field today and saw them again. I am just happy that they have stayed around and hope to lure them this winter with meal worms.

You are lucky to have the Gambel's Quail...they are beautiful birds. Most of our Bobwhite Quail have disappeared and we used to hear them all the time.
