Tucson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Here is another, what I think/thought is a caterpillar..again, on the same globe mallow plant.

Any ideas?

It sort of looks like a Hairstreak cat, but not sure.

It sure seems to be a hairstreak caterpillar, and there is a species known as the mallow scrub-hairstreak (Strymon columella istapa) that occurs in Arizona. See http://nitro.biosci.arizona.edu/zeeb/butterflies/figs/Butterflies/Lycaenidae/Theclinae/S_columella.jpg for images of the adult.

Very cool, thank you! I don't think I've ever seen one of those butterflies in my yard.

That's wild! I found one of those today on my Okra plant!!! Identical to that one anyway.. it crawled like a bug, rather than a caterpillar.. Not very big either.. I thought it was cute. LOL
