Sam our bulldog (my son's dog that came back home) lost her battle with cancer today. She had been sick since the beginning of July and was diagnosed with lung cancer. We did the best we could and were pretty selfish until today wanting to keep her with us. The meds worked for a bit but she got to the point that she wouldn't eat unless forced and her breathing was real bad. My son made the decision to let her go this morning. She had been with him through some very trying times and was a wonderful companion. I know she is breathing peacefully now and is in great company. I am glad I have a few shoulders here to cry on...
