Alton Brown's grilled cheese?

Did I see this correctly? Alton assembled a cheese sandwich w/ shredded chedder. Spritzed both sides of sandwich w/ evoo.He heated 2 cast iron skillets and placed the sandwich in one skillet but did not keep that skillet on the heated burner; he put it on counter, protected. Then he placed the other hot and heavy skillet on top of the sandwich and left it there for a few minutes til the sandwich was grilled on both sides. Did I see that correctly?
