It was breaking my heart to see this gorgeous dragonfly stuck way high in a skylight. I was afraid he was going to be traumatized when I stuck the Swiffer up into the skylight but he was too high for the normal jar & paper rescue. Happily he grabbed right on and stayed put long enough for the trip outdoors.
Anybody know the name of the gorgeous fellow/gal?

Looks like a Mosaic Darner....Aeschna sp., here's a site that describes some of the characteristics of the different species.
